Summer Camp at Beads Indeed

Girls ages 9-16

This summer, Beads Indeed will be offering a series of classes directed to young ladies ages 9-16.  Each class will teach the professional methods needed to construct a different piece of jewelry and last for one and a half hours. 

During this time, the girls will receive step-by-step instructions for the designated tehcnique and will construct a piece to practice the methods that they have learned. 

Each session will be priced individually and prices will include the lesson and materials needed for each project.  Payment can be made at Beads Indeed or by phone at #540-344-9586.

Week One:

Tuesday July 3

4:00pm-5:30pm

Students will learn to use the tools and materials involved in assembling and clasping a single strand piece of jewelry, such as a necklace, bracelet or anklet. 

Supplies will include beads, one charm per girl, beading wire, crimping beads and a choice of clasp.

All tools provided

Week Two:

Tuesday July 10

4:00pm-5:30pm

Students will learn how to assemble a basic pair of earrings.  They will practice the technique on a simple pair of earrings and reinforce their newly learned skill by assembling a pair of chandelier earrings. 

Students will take home two pairs of earrings.  Supplies will include two pair of sterling silver ear wires, beads, findings and chandelier pieces.  Clip on ear pieces are available upon request.

Week Three:

Tuesday July 17

4:00pm-5:30pm

Students will learn two techniques in this class session. They'll first learn how to wire wrap pendant beads and briolettes.  Next, the girls will assemble a leather necklace to showcase their newly wrapped pendant. 

Students will leave with one necklace.  Supplies will include a pendant bead, silver or gold wire, leather, leather crimps, split rings and a choice of clasp.

Week Four:

Tuesday July 24

4:00pm-5:30pm

This week the girls will be introduced to chain and reintroduced to the wire wrapping technique.  The girls will be using beads and headpins to create their own charms. They will then put together a personalized charm bracelet.

Supplies include a length of sterling  silver chain, headpins, beads, one pre-made metal charm per girl, split rings and a choice of clasp.
